Welcome to Montloue
MONTLOUE is owned and managed by Keith and Carol Stevens who, after visiting France for many years, decided to make their home in Brittany in March 2005. Everyone who has visited has enjoyed its tranquillity and found it to be a convenient base from which to explore the real Brittany and meet the Breton people.
THE HOUSE is built of local Brittany stone reclaimed from an old Chateau and stands in two acres of grounds. Its gardens are secluded and peaceful and ideal for anyone who would like to relax outside. Chairs and sunloungers are provided and guests are welcome to use the communal barbeque.
SITUATED in the south of Brittany, Montloue is within easy reach of the coast and less than a mile from the small village of MELLAC. This pretty village has a Boulangerie, Pharmacy, a small Supermarket, Bars and a Restaurant.
QUIMPERLE is an historic unspoilt small Brittany town situated two miles away with its twin rivers meeting and flowing through its centre. Lovely restaurants can be found there including some overlooking the river.
THE BRITTANY COAST is about a 15-minute drive and if you then travel East or West there are plenty of interesting small coastal villages, historic towns and beautiful countryside to enjoy and photograph. (Ideal for camera enthusiasts)
FOUR GOLF COURSES can be reached easily by car within 20/30 minutes.
PURSUITS available within the area include:- Swimming, walking, golf, cycling and fishing and a new Ten Pin Bowling facility just opened on the outskirts of Quimperlé. However, the main pursuits of many past guests seemed to be EATING & SLEEPING!
